Abstract
Securely managing shared information in distributed environments across multiple organizations is a challenge. Distributed information management systems designed to this purpose, must be able to support individual organizations' information policies whilst ensuring global consistency and completeness of information. This paper describes a multi-agent based prototype implementation of a distributed information management system, illustrated for distributed digital criminal dossiers. The prototype implementation runs on the multi-agent platform AgentScape.
