The IIDS group at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam has a PhD position available for 4 years. IIDS' research programme focuses on complex, adaptive, large-scale, distributed, autonomous systems and services: autonomic systems capable of self-management, self-configuration, self-monitoring, self-healing.

Are you interested in this programme, and in particular, in autonomous negotiation of complex services? In electricity and power management? Crisis management?

Requirements

We are looking for outstanding candidates with a MSc degree in Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence. Knowledge of distributed systems and an interest in autonomic systems are needed.

Appointment

The appointment will be initially for 1 year. If the results are successful the appointed period will be prolonged for in totally 4 years, intended to result in a dissertation. You can visit our website www.vu.nl/vacatures for a review of working conditions at the VU.

Salary

Gross monthly salary starts at euro 2.000,- in the first year and increases to euro 2.558,- in the last year of the appointment, based on a fulltime employment.
